Spurs and Substantial Sanctions

I personally think that Greg Popovich is entitled to coach his team however he sees fit, including resting his antique superstars on six game road trips that are followed by a showdown with Memphis. Additionally, I think David Stern is stacking on further proof that he, along with most owners, view the players as nothing more than a commodity (See NBA Lockout, 2011). I understand that fans in Miami were deprived the chance to watch Tim Duncan lull them to sleep on his way to another 20/10 night, but honestly, the Spurs are a franchise trying to win titles. The last two years they burned out short of the prize, and it looks like Popovich is trying to provide additional rest for Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili so that they'll stay healthy and ready for one more playoff run.
